Roger Poulin spent the better part of a decade making music in various locales on both the East and West coast of the US. During that time, he recorded and performed in bands ranging from alt-folk to 60's-style garage to heavy psych, including a stint as 2nd lead guitarist & vocalist in Boston's Magic Shoppe.
Binding Spell released a S/T EP in 2019, and has just released a brand new debut LP "English Basement". Poulin recorded almost all the instruments himself in his Washington, DC basement apartment.
English Basement is an isolation record that manages to eschew loneliness. It exists not only as a snapshot of place and time, but also as an example of art’s ability to aid in self-examination and to foster community when there is none.
