Pets - Dig The Skull

On 2025’s Dig The Skull, the band’s signature fuzzed out bass and reverb drenched guitar are as noisy as ever and together with the hypnotic driving repetition of the looping drum machine, echoing rhythms of tambourines and shakers and Derek and Allison’s lushly layered vocals they create a unique psyched out soundscape with their DIY punkgaze ethos on full display.

 
The album was mixed, mastered and coproduced by Andrea Fox Volpato, who also added additional drum programming and production at his Fox Revording Studios. All of their sonic influences and loves show through across the thirteen tracks, from two minute punky rave-ups (Ten Eyed Snakes, Mind Your Beeswax, [Just a]Quick Forever) to five minute plus groovers (Judy’s Priest [Threw a Rager], Leaver in Lipstick) and a psych-rock hymnal, (Robotany) featuring additional lyrics and vocals from Jsun Atoms.
