As Spirit Hotel’s sound defies any one genre, their first vinyl release falls somewhere between an EP and an LP - seven songs, just under 30 minutes. At first listen, layers of reverb-heavy guitars indicate shoegaze, but as Farfisa echoes throughout and the occasional sitar drones, the psych influence becomes clear, while tribal drum beats lean postpunk. 

What started as a recording project for singer/songwriter/guitarist Leila May Hauck in 2023 grew into a live band over the following year. When Hauck returned to the studio, she brought her live bandmates and the result is the album Rêve, a more fully realized sound of a dream within a dream.
